Our Goal

“To facilitate and transfer proven and promising Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (“RMNCH+A”) solutions from India to other developing countries for reducing preventable maternal and child deaths”.

The Problem

Annually, an estimated 0.3 million maternal deaths* (2017) and 2.4 million neonatal deaths** (2019) occur globally.

Approximately 810 women died globally from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth in 2017.*

94% of all maternal deaths occur in low and lower-middle-income countries with Sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia accounting for approximately 86% of estimated global maternal deaths (2017).*

India, Bangladesh, and Nigeria are among the top 10 countries with the highest number of newborn deaths (2019).**

Less than 50% of all births in several low-income and lower-middle-income countries are assisted by skilled health personnel.*

The risk of maternal mortality is highest for adolescent girls under 15 years old and complications in pregnancy and childbirth are higher among adolescent girls age 10-19 (compared to women aged 20-24)*
